The parts an off-the-shelf site cannot do
Custom Systems & Integrations
Azteca Media builds the software layer around a website: payment gateways, ecommerce checkouts, and custom systems that connect the tools a business already runs. Work covers Stripe, PayPal and digital wallet integration, subscription and recurring billing, booking and quoting systems, and the API work that stops your site, your CRM and your accounting from being three separate versions of the truth. It is scoped like every other engagement — a written specification at a fixed price, on infrastructure and code you own outright.

What you get
Outcomes
- Take payment on your own site instead of handing customers to someone else’s
- One source of truth, instead of the same data typed into three systems
- Software shaped around how you work, not how a template assumed you do
- Code, accounts and infrastructure you own, with nothing licensed back to us
Scope
What is included
Every item below is part of the quoted scope. Anything outside it is quoted separately before it starts — never added to an invoice after the fact.
- 01 Payment gateway integration
- Stripe, PayPal, Apple Pay and Google Pay wired into your checkout — including the parts usually skipped: declined cards, refunds, and receipts that actually arrive.
- 02 Ecommerce build and checkout
- Catalogue, cart and a checkout instrumented end to end, so you can see which step loses orders rather than guessing at it.
- 03 Subscriptions and recurring billing
- Plans, proration, dunning and cancellation flows, built so an expired card does not quietly become a lost customer.
- 04 Booking, quoting and intake systems
- Forms that do real work — availability, pricing rules, routing and confirmation — connected to the calendar your team already lives in.
- 05 API and platform integrations
- Your site talking to your CRM, accounting, inventory or dispatch software, with sane error handling for the day one of them is down.
- 06 Handover and documentation
- Repository, environment configuration, deployment steps and a written runbook, so any developer can pick this up after us.
Process
How the work runs
-
Specify
We write down what the system does, what it explicitly does not do, and what finished means. Nothing gets built against a verbal description.
-
Build in stages
Delivered as working increments you can click through, rather than months of silence followed by a reveal.
-
Test the failure paths
Declined cards, timeouts, duplicate submissions, partial refunds. Custom work almost never breaks on the happy path — it breaks on the ones nobody tried.
-
Launch and hand over
Deployed to infrastructure in your name, with credentials, documentation and repository access transferred to you.
A good fit if
- You take payment online, or you want to stop sending customers elsewhere to pay
- Your team retypes the same information into two or more systems every day
- An off-the-shelf plugin almost fits, and the gap is costing real hours or real revenue
Probably not for you if
- Projects with no defined scope, where the requirement is expected to emerge as we build. We quote from a specification, so there has to be one.
- Anything an existing product already does well. If Shopify or a scheduling app covers it, that is cheaper to buy and cheaper to keep — and we will say so.
Questions
Custom Systems & Integrations questions
Which payment gateways do you work with?
Stripe and PayPal most often, plus Apple Pay, Google Pay and platform-native options such as Shopify Payments. Which one is right is usually settled by your fee structure, the countries and currencies you sell in, and whether you need recurring billing. We recommend on those grounds, not on which is quickest for us to wire up.
Do I own the code you write?
Entirely. The repository, hosting, gateway accounts and any third-party services are set up in your name and handed over at launch along with documentation. There is no licence fee to us afterwards and nothing preventing another developer from taking it over.
Is a custom system always the right answer?
No, and usually it is not. If an existing product covers what you need, it is cheaper to buy and cheaper to maintain than anything we would write, and that is the advice you will get. Custom work earns its cost when the gap between how you operate and what the software assumes is measurably costing you.
How is a custom project priced?
From the written specification, at a fixed price for that specification. Changes are quoted separately before they are built, so the number you approve is the number you pay. We do not run open-ended hourly projects, because those are where budgets go to drift.
